Chocolate and Red Velvet Cupcakes

This was an order I filled for 3 dozen cupcakes. 2 dozen were chocolate with half chocolate and half vanilla swiss meringue buttercream frosting, and sprinkled with white and semi-sweet chocolate shavings. 1 dozen were red velvet with vanilla cream cheese frosting and topped with a toasted pecan halve.

Black Forest and Vanilla Strawberry Cupcakes

I brought these for dessert after a New Year's Day lunch I had with my parents and our very good friends. The first one is devil's food with chocolate glaze, fresh whipped cream with cherry halves that had been cooked in kirsch (cherry brandy), and topped with a fresh cherry. The second was a vanilla cupcake with vanilla pastry cream filling, fresh strawberry swiss meringue buttercream, and topped with a strawberry dipped in white chocolate, and drizzled with bittersweet chocolate.























Pumpkin and Carrot Cupcakes


These were an order for a New Year's Eve Party. Pumpkin cupcakes with vanilla-cinnamon swiss meringue buttercream, and topped with a candied walnut halve. The second cupcake was carrot with swiss meringue buttercream flavored with fresh grated ginger and orange zest, and sprinkled with more zest. Both had flags that said Happy New Year.
