Black Forest and Vanilla Strawberry Cupcakes

I brought these for dessert after a New Year's Day lunch I had with my parents and our very good friends. The first one is devil's food with chocolate glaze, fresh whipped cream with cherry halves that had been cooked in kirsch (cherry brandy), and topped with a fresh cherry. The second was a vanilla cupcake with vanilla pastry cream filling, fresh strawberry swiss meringue buttercream, and topped with a strawberry dipped in white chocolate, and drizzled with bittersweet chocolate.

  1. These cupcakes are a must have!!!!! The strawberry ones are the best cupcakes I have ever had. The strawberry added to the flavor of the actual cupcake.
